You already know the story. Steelers defense vs a Rookie QB. Since 2004 Pittsburgh is 18-2 when facing a rookie QB with the only two losses coming against HOF bound Troy Smith and Brandon Weeden. If I were a betting man I’d say Carson Wentz will actually end up proving he knows how to throw a football in the long run and since Pittsburgh only loses to garbage rookies they should be safe this week.
In all seriousness, I’ve liked what I’ve seen out of Wentz I just don’t think he’ll be able to do enough of it to outscore the juggernaut that is Ben and the Boys. The Steelers have been using their LB’s in coverage a lot more than usual this season and without them leaving parts of the field open from rushing the passer I think the young QB will have trouble finding open receivers. And besides all that this is the first time the Eagles will be matched up against an NFL caliber team this season so they might be in for a shock.
On offense, the Steelers are good. K, I think that about covers it.
Pittsburgh makes strong, steady, relatively easy work of the Eagles for a comfortable win.
